About Me

My name is Shiko and I’m a houswife. There, I said it. Never in a million years could I have imagined that those words would be coming out of my mouth! I mean, I had a freshly minted MBA and was about to take the corporate world by storm! But then the economy tanked, I lost my job AND I got pregnant. So here I am, jobless, pregnant and clueless about what it takes to be a housewife (let alone a mom). I started this blog as a way to document the adventures that I will undoubtedly face in my journey towards finding peace and contentment in my new life. Much like the calabash which is harvested while green and soft, I’m hoping that over time I can evolve into a resilient, mature and practical entity. I hope you enjoy reading about my escapades as a rookie mom/domestic diva as well as my musings on african fashion & pop culture, noteworthy books and all the other random things that I love to talk about.

great blog! I look forward to keeping up with your updates.

As for the meditation try or look into Transcendental Meditation (TM). And even as you practice the ones you have, just note discipline will strengthen your practice and the benefits (calm, clarity of mind etc) will be multiplied. Good for you for embarking on that journey though.

By the way you are gorgeous! 🙂

    peace
